In this scenario, the network topography was maxed to the limit, requiring the addition of random IP addresses to the DHCP pool because we were maxing the current range.  The SG200 switches, which is part of Cisco's small office home office product line, are inexpensive and can be connected to a Cisco Catalyst switch for a VLAN trunk as a cost-effective solution, to a bank of 10 SG200's for workstation / printer end points to one Catalyst core switch.

This project allowed several networks or VLANs to be defined for servers, management, workstations, printers, wireless, and other peripherals with the ability to block access depending on the source network.  The solution also made tracking of network resources much simpler because like items are grouped together.  The one comment I would have with this setup is the SG200's do not have a central configuration, so if one needed to add a VLAN in the future, it will need to be added to every single switch.  The SG500 Series is stackable but this solution was designed to save money.
